From The Prattville Area Chamber of Commerce
Last night, the Prattville-Autauga Character Coalition, in partnership with the Prattville Area Chamber of Commerce, proudly hosted a celebration for the recipients of the Character Education Grants.
“The Coalition is proud to continue our partnership with educators and schools in our community by providing additional resources to help teach our children and youth good character traits and promote a seamless integration of applying and practicing these characters traits daily. By working together we are creating a much stronger, safer and better community for us all,” said Catherine Porter.
April Baker with Autauga County Pre-School will use her grant for a “Help Me Be Calm” program for her pre-school kids!
Katie Lindsey with the Prattville Junior High School will use her grant for the “Positive Behavior Intervention Support” program. This will help reinforce positive behavior in the children and teachers at Prattville Junior High School.
Traci McGee with Prattville High School will use her grant for a “PHS Peer Helpers Training Retreat”. This will help Prattville High School get quality peer helpers.
Victoria Boyd with Prattville High School will use her grant to help fund the Freshman Academy Field Trip! Every freshman at Prattville High School gets to attend a day long field trip at no cost to them!
Debbie Langham with Prattville Primary School will use her grant for “Baby Doll Circle Time”. This will help the children learn valuable skills while learning to be empathetic and not sympothetic.
Victoria Connell with Prattville Kindergarten School will use her grant for the “Character Education Program”. She will use the monthly character traits from the Character Coalition to inspire her kindergarten kids!
Kaylyn Walker with Daniel Pratt Elementary will use her grant for the “Character Counts” program where they will use the Character Coalition monthly character traits.
Receiving for Andrea Zorn with Prattville Junior High School. Andrea will use her grant for social/ emotional learning for our growing leaders!
The Prattville-Autauga Character Coalition, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization formed in 2007, works to strengthen the community by promoting excellence in character for each citizen. To accomplish this, PACC highlights good character traits, provides educational resources, partners with character clubs, and recognizes those who have exemplified excellent character in their daily lives to strengthen their homes, schools, neighborhoods, and communities.
