Beginning Today, Applications for Millbrook’s Operation Blue Santa are Available!

FROM THE MILLBROOK POLICE DEPARTMENT

The Millbrook Police Department is pleased to announce the beginning of Blue Santa 2022!

The Millbrook Police Department and their members are proud to support our community and its children through programs such as Blue Santa, Cops N Kids, the Junior Police Academy and many more. Operation Blue Santa is a program in which the Millbrook Police Department, through many sponsors and the hard work of so many people, provide toys for children that may not have anything for Christmas.

Applications will be available starting Friday, November 4th. Applications are open for families in the Millbrook area (Elmore/Autauga County) families that need assistance with Christmas this year. This program is available to help low-income families, families who have lost employment or just need a helping hand making a great Christmas for their children.  Applications can be picked up at the Police Headquarters, 3950 Grandview Road.

The application deadline is Friday, December 9th at 0900 hours. A Christmas party will be held at the Millbrook Municipal Courthouse, 3900 Grandview Road (next to the Police Department) on Tuesday, December 20th from 6pm to 8pm. Blue Santa will be present along with milk and cookies, hot chocolate and snacks for the kids. Photos can be taken with Santa at this event. Parents should make arrangements to pick-up their gifts at this event or following the event until Friday, December 23rd.

The Police Department is still accepting donations as well and if you, your group or your church would like to drop off items or a donation check, they can drop them off at donation boxes located at the Millbrook Police Department, Front Porch Grill, or at the American Legion Post 133 (Main Street Millbrook).

The Department would like to thank the Punishers Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club, Three Rivers chapter, for its fundraising efforts for the past 5 years. The club raised this money through their annual Blue Santa ride, which was held in September of this year. Donations came from many sponsors and the club would like to thank the American Legion posts 133 and 122 Legion riders as well as all the businesses and individuals that helped sponsor and donate to this event. With their donations and a very generous donation from Elmore County Juvenile Court Judge Patrick Pinkston, this year the Punishers LEMC presented Millbrook Chief P.K. Johnson with a check for $15,000 to Operation Blue Santa. This money will go a long way to put smiles on many children’s faces this holiday season.
