Daniel James Forman, 31, of Prattville and an employee of the Autauga County School system. He is currently being held in the Autauga County Metro Jail charged with Having Sexual Contact with a Student under the age of 19. He has been placed on administrative leave and is prohibited from entering Autauga County Board of Education property.
Forman, of Prattville, was arrested Thursday morning by the Prattville Police Department. His arrest falls under Alabama Statute 13A-6-82(a). Forman is currently held on a bond of $45,000. Due to the nature of the investigation, no further information will be released at this time. The case remains under investigation by the Prattville Police Department.
The EAN has reached out to Autauga County Supt. Tidmore and received this response: “I received a report of an employee possibly engaged in inappropriate conduct. After speaking with the employee and others, l placed the employee on administrative leave prohibiting him from entering and ACBOE property. We contacted local law enforcement and the employee was subsequently arrested. I am continuing to investigate the matter and fully cooperating with the police investigation. In accordance with the ACBOE’s practice of not commenting on personnel matters, there will be no further statements at this time,” Tidmore said.
The Alabama Statute which relates to this particular case reads as follows: (a) A person commits the crime of a school employee having sexual contact with a student under the age of 19 years if he or she is a school employee and engages in sexual contact, as defined by Section 13A-6-60(3), with a student, regardless of whether the student is male or female. Consent is not a defense to a charge under this section. The crime of a school employee having sexual contact with a student is a Class C felony.
