The Alabama Nature Center and Realty Connection hosted the annual Creatures of the Night and Halloween Carnival on Saturday, October 22nd at Lanark in Millbrook. This fun event was all about creatures found in Alabama that come out at night. Along with that were games to play, a huge inflatable slide, enjoying delicious food, and winning prizes.
Over 655 guests came out to enjoy this FREE event full of fun activities for all ages.
For the past two years, Realty Connection could not host their Halloween Carnival due to COVID-19 restrictions. This year is their seventh year and it’s one of their biggest events to date.
Some activities included were live, creepy crawly insects, reptiles, amphibians, a raptor presentation with the Southeastern Raptor Center, Halloween games, candy, goodies, balloon making, a night hike and a movie under the stars.
“We all had a great time today,” said Matt Vines, ANC Camps and Community Programs Coordinator. “This really was a great event for our guests and community it is always nice being able to partner with Realty Connection, they do such a great job. During this event we celebrate Halloween ANC style with plenty of fun, games, and candy but we also add education to the event by showing guests some of the native wildlife that are nocturnal and come out at night. We also want to stress the importance of conservation of these animals that guests don’t get to see very often. We look forward to hosting this event again next year.”
