Holtville Middle School Principal Lee Jackson is on leave after an Oct. 24 incident that involved interaction with the Prattville Police Department. After that initial incident was reported to Elmore County school officials, Jackson was placed on immediate leave from his principal’s position on Oct. 25.
In an unrelated matter, Jackson was arrested overnight in Millbrook for a charge of domestic violence.
He remains in the Elmore County Jail and no bond had been listed as of this initial report.
Details are limited in the Prattville incident, but we have confirmed that Jackson went to Prattville Baptist Hospital on Oct. 24. Officials there were concerned by his behavior and contacted Prattville Police. When they arrived, Jackson had left the hospital. He was found a short time later behind a storage unit near the hospital.
He refused treatment, and was turned over to family members.
On Oct. 27, Jackson was arrested by Millbrook Police and charged with Domestic Violence in an unrelated matter.
The following statement was issued by Susanne Goodin, Human Resources Director of Elmore County Public Schools.
It reads, “The police reported the arrest of Holtville Middle School Principal on October 28, 2022. The incident that led to the arrest is unrelated to the school or our school system. As of October 25th, the employee has been on leave. The Elmore County Public Schools has interim leadership taking care of the needs of Holtville Middle School students, staff and parents. The District is not at liberty to comment further.”
