On Friday, October 14, 2022, Central Alabama CrimeStoppers held their annual golf tournament at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Course – Capitol Hill, located in Prattville, Alabama. The annual tournament is a signature fundraising event for CrimeStoppers.

For those not familiar with the organization, Central Alabama CrimeStoppers’ goal is to build stronger relationships with local law enforcement agencies, media, and the citizens of Alabama to empower people to make their communities safer through anonymous reporting of crimes. Since 1997, CrimeStoppers has received more than 13,483 anonymous tips from the public and has offered more than $217,000 in cash rewards to anonymous tipsters. Those tips have helped law enforcement and citizens file over 9,337 criminal charges and placed over 2,840 criminals behind bars.

Central Alabama CrimeStoppers Executive Director, Tony Garrett and his staff are humbled and thankful to the corporate and community tournament sponsors for their continued support. Supporters helped raise $136,600.00 for the 2022 CrimeStoppers Golf Tournament.

Funds raised will support our existing web-based and telephone crime reporting system, our P3 Tip Management System for Law Enforcement, our expansion to new communities, reward program, and our school resource officer and law enforcement training programs. Funding will also help to implement new initiatives with our partner the Council on Substance Abuse, offered to our schools and community.  Funds will also assist with training and outreach that will be provided for our newest partnership with the Alabama Coalition Against Rape.

Beautiful weather and great participation combined recently for the Central Alabama CrimeStoppers Golf Tournament held in Prattville.

Fundraisers and continued support from the community allow Central Alabama CrimeStoppers to be one of the best Crime Stopper programs in the nation.  We would like to thank Law Enforcement and our Media Partners for placing your trust in us as we witness missing persons being located, crimes being solved, and fugitives being captured as we work together to make our communities safer. A special “Thank You” to the citizens that have spoken up and have been empowered to say something after witnessing a crime or seeing a CrimeStoppers segment.
