Recently the Millbrook Middle School PTO Board hosted their inaugural Ability Spirit Day. The PTO Board is made up of five members. Lynn Pate, President; Renae Williams, Vice President;  Jan Moore, Secretary; Mikelyn Calhoun, Parent Volunteer Coordinator, and Rosalind Crosby, Treasurer.

The PTO Board wanted to recognize the students on how wonderful they are and their abilities they have. It was a day to include them as part of our student body. This is the first year the PTO Board hosted this event and hope to continue it again next year. The idea came from the PTO members and they all worked together as a TEAM. Each and every one worked hard to make this event happen.

Each child received a spirit pack to enjoy with bubbles and a small toy. That afternoon, the teachers took the children outside to enjoy playing with their bubbles.

“Millbrook Middle School’s PTO did a phenomenal job when they hosted a special, Red Carpet Event, for our special needs students. MMS is so proud of our students and we are very thankful for the support in our community! A special thank you to photographer, Stephanie Williams, for making this event so memorable.”  – Millbrook Middle School Facebook page.
