(MONTGOMERY)—Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall announced a second victory in his effort to block the Biden administration’s attempt to force preschool teachers to submit to COVID-19 vaccines and two-year-old students to wear masks.
“Today, a federal court permanently blocked the Biden administration’s order to require Head Start program employees and volunteers to receive a COVID vaccine, and children as young as two-years-old to wear face masks while they are in school,” said Attorney General Marshall.
“On December 21, 2021, I joined with other states in filing a lawsuit to stop Biden’s illegal mandate on preschool teachers and students, and on January 1, 2022, we won a preliminary injunction to halt the mandate. Today’s court victory permanently closes the door to Biden’s unlawful order in Alabama and the 23 other states which were part of our litigation. It guarantees that Alabama’s Head Start teachers, staff, volunteers and students remain free to make their own choices over COVID vaccination and free from requirements to force masks on toddlers.
“As with our other successful lawsuits targeting a coordinated Biden administration effort to force Americans to submit to vaccinations and masking, we have again triumphed over the heavy hand of government acting without legal authority.”
Alabama was joined by Louisiana, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Utah, West Virginia and Wyoming in filing the lawsuit.
