Two-Vehicle Crash Saturday claims life of Othell Motley, 76, of Autaugaville

MONTGOMERY POST – A two-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 5:10 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, has claimed the life of an Autaugaville man. Othell Motley, 76, was critically injured when the 2001 GMC Jimmy in which he was a passenger was struck by the 2015 Chrysler Town and Country van driven by Jacqueline C. Gibbons, 60, of Tallassee. Motley was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash and was transported to Baptist Medical Center South, in Montgomery, where he later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased. Gibbons was injured and transported to Jackson Hospital, in Montgomery. The driver of the GMC, James Steele, 65, also of Autaugaville, was injured and transported to Baptist Medical Center South.  

The crash occurred on Autauga County 33, approximately seven miles northwest of Autaugaville, in Autauga County. Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
