Dr. Jennifer Steele represented CACC and Dr. Quinton Ross, President, represented Alabama State. Those in attendance included State Senator Clyde Chambliss, Prattville City Councilman Albert Striplin, and Autauga County Schools Superintendent Tim Tidmore.

Steele announced that CACC President Jeff Lynn was called away, and then spoke briefly of the excitement of CACC regarding this announcement and handed the floor to Ross. Ross started off by saying he was grateful to be here to announce that Alabama State and Central Alabama Community College are proud to team up “To allow students at CACC to come to attend ASU with all the same benefits as students already enrolled at ASU.”

This announcement is huge to say the least, allowing for more students in the area to grow and receive educational opportunities beyond high school. Senator Chambliss spoke in regards to “The hard work of the City and CACC on getting the campus moved to the prior home of East Memorial Christian Academy” and thinks the opportunities with this partnership are endless.

The representatives for Central Alabama Community College and Alabama State University both signed the Memorandum of Understanding, signaling the official beginning of this wonderful partnership
