On Sunday, August 21st the First United Methodist Church of Prattville hosted their annual back to school event at the YMCA Bradford Branch in Prattville, Alabama. This is the 15th year the church has done their back to school event.

This year, over 150 people from the community came out to celebrate this fun event. This event was open to the public and all were welcome to come kick off the return to school.

Dinner was provided, swimming in the outdoor pools (both regular and kid pool), basketball, volleyball, corn hole, indoor child playground, bingo with many prizes, and a basket giveaway filled with goodies which included a gift card.

FUMC of Prattville is a multi-generational church which centers around families of all ages.

“At Prattville First United Methodist Church, we know the importance of the church playing a central role in helping to prepare and uplift children and youth for the challenges they face. In a culture where families are under attack, we want to stand at the forefront reminding our fellow community members that the church is a place where they can experience true connection, loving support and God’s grace in a real way. The Back-2-School Bash was a wonderful event that brought many people together for a night of celebrating all the wonderful ways God is working in our community. In the fifteenth year of this event, we were able to have fun, eat great food and experience the church strengthening and supporting families of all types,” said Tony McCullough, Pastor of FUMC of Prattville.
