PAHS Pet of the Week: Nugget has healed from Horrible Abuse and is Waiting at a New Start at Life

FROM PRATTVILLE AUTAUGA HUMANE SHELTER

Nugget is a 1-year-old Australian Shepherd/Husky mix who must be neutered before he is adopted.  He came to PAHS as a stray.

You can’t tell from his pictures but he had an embedded collar around his neck.  Nugget’s hind legs had apparently been tied together; and if you look closely you can see evidence of that.  Our staff has fallen in love with Nugget and worked tirelessly to get his wounds healed.  Nugget is just a handsome boy who has a chocolate coat with tan markings.  He only weighs 29 pounds so he isn’t a very big guy.

Nugget is sweet as sugar and loves all the attention he is getting at PAHS.  He is well behaved and good on a leash.  Nugget would be good with children and other dogs.  If any dog ever deserved a new start on life–it is Nugget.  We adore him and can’t wait for a family to fall in love with and take him home!

Our adoption fee is $120.00 for dogs and $50.00 for cats.  This fee covers a microchip, microchip registration, discounted spay/neuter, deworming, vaccinations (as age and law requires), and a courtesy vet exam at participating offices.

Unless otherwise indicated under “special needs” our dogs have screened heart worm negative.

The shelter is located at 1009 Reuben Road in Prattville.  Our regular hours are Monday through Saturday from 11 am until 4 pm.  We are closed the last Thursday of the month for staff training.  Adoptions are currently by appointment only.
