Autauga EMA Manager Ernie Baggett Elected President of AAEM During Conference

Montgomery—Autauga County Emergency Manager Ernie Baggett has been elected the 2022-2023 President of the Alabama Association of Emergency Managers (AAEM), the statewide association representing Alabama’s emergency managers. Baggett was elected to the position at the recent 2022 Alabama Disaster Preparedness Conference.

“I’m thankful for the service opportunity that my colleagues across the state have provided me. I look forward to working closely with each Emergency Manager to prioritize safety and promote emergency awareness across all 67 counties,” Baggett said.

Prior to moving into the role of AAEM President, Baggett served as the Association’s First Vice President and Second Vice President.

ACCA Executive Director Sonny Brasfield expressed his confidence in Baggett’s abilities, stating: “Ernie possesses the leadership and commitment necessary to make a tremendous positive impact on the Association. He has proven his genuine desire and sense of responsibility to protect citizens in his home county and across the state. I know he will bring that same mindset and dedication to his new role as AAEM President.”

Baggett was named Autauga County Emergency Manager in January 2013.
