THE CITY OF PRATTVILLE PRIORITIZES COMMUNITY HEALTH AND WELLNESS WITH A BLUE CROSS AND BLUE SHIELD OF ALABAMA FITNESS COURT

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama and the National Fitness Campaign (NFC) are
pleased to announce the launch of an outdoor Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama Fitness Court convenient
to Pratt Park. The Fitness Court will officially be unveiled at a ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday, June 17,
10 a.m. at 246 Doster Street. This launch is a result of the partnership between Blue Cross and Blue Shield of
Alabama and NFC to expand free access to high quality workouts and create equitable access to exercise for
communities around the state.

“One of the first projects when I came into office as Mayor was improving the sidewalks in Downtown,” said
Mayor Bill Gillespie, Jr. “Due to these improvements, we have seen a drastic increase in our citizens utilizing
the sidewalks and outdoor recreational areas. Upgraded and new quality of life opportunities are what bring
communities together, start traditions, and create lifelong memories. The Fitness Court will provide additional
free public outdoor recreational opportunities to our citizens. This project creates fun and healthy activities for
all ages, which are imperative to our thriving City. I want to thank the National Fitness Campaign and
Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama for their partnership in making this opportunity a reality.”

“One of our Company’s top priorities is to help improve the health and wellness of Alabamians,” said Sophie
Martin, Director of Corporate Communications and Community Relations, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of
Alabama. “We are honored to partner with the City of Prattville to bring our first Blue Cross sponsored Fitness
Court to Alabama. This innovative platform will help encourage their community to lead a healthy and active
lifestyle.”

The new Fitness Court is an open-air wellness center that allows users to leverage their own body weight to get
a complete workout using seven stations. Created with adults of all ages in mind, the Fitness Court is adaptable
for all fitness levels. New users can also download the free Fitness Court App — a coach-in-your-pocket style
platform — that transforms the outdoor gym into a digitally supported wellness ecosystem. The Fitness Court
App is available for iOS and Android.

Prattville is the first outdoor court in a series of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama Fitness Courts that will
be constructed in easily accessible public spaces through 2022. NFC’s award-winning initiative will welcome its
500th city across America in 2022.
