ELMORE/AUTAUGA NEWS

Even with some periods of heavy rain, the fish were biting last week at Pratt Pond for the Senior Adult Fishing Day event. While some stayed away due to the weather, it just meant “More for me!” as one group committed fisherman said laughing.

The City of Prattville sponsored the event for senior citizens 50 and older. No fishing license was required for those 65 or older. For a cost of $2 lunch was also included. The pond had been stocked with catfish for the event, and around the pond sounds of delight could be heard as someone caught a big one.

There was a limit of seven fish per person. On the banks was a group of friends with nine people, and with their individual catches, they were already planning a fish fry for their families.

Thank you to the City of Prattville for this great event. For more information about upcoming evens in Prattville follow the City of Prattville Facebook page. There is always something fun to do that is family-friendly.
