Millbrook Police Officer Zachary Sumerlin was promoted this week to the rank of Detective.
The promotion was held during the Millbrook City Council meeting Monday.
Sumerlin first joined the department in 2017, coming to Millbrook from Montgomery. He left for a short time to work with the Elmore County Sheriff’s Office, but returned to Millbrook shortly thereafter.
“Zach does a fantastic job for us. About six months ago, we had a need in the Detective’s division, and we moved him back there. According to his supervisor, he has done an outstanding job, and it is time he is recognized for the work he is doing,” Millbrook Police Chief P.K. Johnson said.
