On Saturday, May 14th, the Elmore County Child Development Program held their inaugural Preschool Palooza at Holtville Elementary School. The school is located at 287 Whatley Drive in Deatsville, Alabama. Children from all four locations attended the event which included children in the K2, K3, and K4 classrooms. The locations include Eclectic, Holtville, Millbrook and Wetumpka.  There were 100 children and families that came out to attend this fun and joyous event.

Games included for the children were bean bag toss, fishing games, pool noodle toss, football toss, flamingo toss, popcorn parachutes, cornhole, bubble blowing stations, sidewalk chalk area, and face painting stations. At the end of the event, the children wore white clothing and participated in a Color Walk/Run around the Holtville Elementary School track.

“This was a chance for us to celebrate our youngest learners in Elmore County by celebrating our Pre-school students and all of their academic achievements this year.  We expect a lot out of our little learners and this was a way for us to just focus on fun and games!

Next year, we will have students from our Redland location. We will be adding pre-school classes to our Redlands Child Development Program this August.  It was a beautiful day and we enjoyed spending time with the families of our preschool students.  I would like to thank Holtville Elementary for letting us host our event on their campus. Darri and Adrienne Edwards who donated some bottled water for our event. A special thanks to Dr. And Mrs. Troglen for coming out to our event and taking photos for us.  I want to thank the staff from our programs who gave up part of their Saturday to help make this event a success. We cannot wait for next years event,” said Terri Carrico- Supervisor for the Elmore County Child Development Programs.
