It was a sweltering day Saturday as hundreds of Prattville residents, as well as folks from all over the River Region, descended upon downtown Prattville to celebrate the annual City Fest celebration.

Children and their families enjoyed the day Saturday walking from one end of downtown to the other visiting the booths of local businesses, meeting local law enforcement representatives, listening to great music, touching some cute farm animals, eating lots of food and enjoying many more fun activities.

This was the 34th annual City Fest and the event was sponsored by Prattville Baptist Hospital (Presenting Sponsor) for the 18th year in a row, MAX Federal Credit Union (Stage Sponsor) and Centerpoint Fellowship Church (Children’s Activities and Sound Services Sponsor). Also, Eleven86 Real Artesian Water was the much-needed Water Sponsor.

The Prattville Area Chamber of Commerce-sponsored event was made possible by more than 50 sponsors in Diamond, Platinum, Gold and Silver Levels.

City Fest 2022 officially started Friday night, with a concert provided by The Tip Tops as well as food trucks. The music for Saturday was provided by Blackbird Pickers, Shackelford Lane and Jeff and the Johnsons.

Along with local businesses sharing their wares with visitors, local churches brought their material to share, city leaders walked along greeting people, and candidates for various offices also let people know they were there and asked for their support.

Lots of famous folks and some not so famous, got dunked into water tanks by kids with great aim, which raised money for various organizations.

It was a fun and exciting day for many and despite the intense heat, and the need for constant hydration, it was a good time for all.
