On April 14th over 200 children and their families attended the inaugural Coosada Elementary School Carnival event that was held at the school located at 5260 Airport Road in Millbrook, Alabama. There was delicious carnival themed food, many outdoor games, and lots of fun for all to enjoy.

In the past, this event was called Winterfest, but after COVID, they were unable to host it for a few years. After the quarantines and shutdowns, the school hosted the event so it could bring back some family fun. Kailey Thornell and Kay Yarnell were the chairs of the Coosada Carnival Committee. They spent many hours and late nights at the school to make sure that this event was a huge success.

“I would like to personally thank Thornell and Yarnell for their dedication to our students! I would also like to thank the members of the Coosada Carnival Committee and all of the teachers that hosted games and participated in this amazing event,” said Brittney Lanier, 1st grade teacher/Public relations Committee. “The Coosada Carnival was such a success. Parents, students, and teachers had so many positive things to say about how wonderful it was. We appreciate the parents that donated prizes and other items to help us out with this as well. It was an amazing night and it brought us joy to see so many families having a great time together. Everywhere we turned we saw smiling faces, families picnicking on the grass, and best of all kids being kids. We look forward to doing this again next year.”
