Girl Scouts of Southern Alabama (GSSA) will host its 6th Annual Leading Ladies event in June to celebrate women and organizations in southern Alabama that have distinguished themselves as outstanding members of the community through individual excellence and high levels of achievement. Nominations for the Leading Lady Award and the Leading Workplace for Women Award are open until May 13, 2022.

All women nominated will be recognized. One woman will be selected as the Leading Lady for 2022. The Leading Lady selected to win the award exemplifies quality leadership skills and outstanding community support, especially when she is directing those efforts to support the advancement of girls and women. GSSA proudly honored Michelle Browder, owner and operator of More Than Tours, and Stephanie Peavy, Vice President of Treasury Management at River Bank and Trust as the 2021 Leading Ladies, as well as Palomar Insurance as the 2021 Leading Workplace for Women.

The Leading Workplace for Women Award recognizes an organization that supports and encourages opportunities for women to develop leadership skills to further grow their careers. Equal opportunity in the workplace helps women reach their potential and allows the community to fully benefit.

The Leading Ladies Awards Brunch is an important fundraising event for GSSA and gives us an opportunity to demonstrate why investing in girls is so important and can change the world. Building future women leaders is at the core of our mission.

The nominees will be honored with a brunch beginning at 10 a.m. at Wynlakes Golf and Country Club in Montgomery on June 23, 2022. For more information on how to nominate a Leading Lady or a Leading Workplace for Women, please email Alicia Schneider at [email protected] Or call 800-239-6636, or visit www.girlscoutssa.org
