Gary Lee Jenkins III of Montgomery Dies after Single-Vehicle Crash Monday

MONTGOMERY POST – A single-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 2:12 p.m. Monday, March 21, has claimed the life of a Montgomery man. Gary Lee Jenkins III, 64, was fatally injured when the 2020 Freightliner straight-truck he was driving veered off the roadway to the right striking a mailbox, before crossing back over the roadway, which caused the truck to overturn in the grass median. Jenkins was pronounced deceased at the scene. The crash occurred on U.S. 231 south near the 98 mile marker, approximately 20 miles north of Troy, in Montgomery County. Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
