Bloom Salon and Children’s Boutique is owned by Laine Vickery. She is a licensed cosmetologist that attended the Aveda Institute in Birmingham in 2012.
Upon graduation she held every record that the school could imagine. She holds a certification in cosmetology education as well, which is the highest license in the state.
In the last 10 years she has gained 27 color certifications consisting of different hair colors and techniques.
Even Millbrook Mayor Al Kelley has his hair cut at Bloom Salon and Boutique.
She recently moved back to Millbrook and opened her salon and boutique. “With three small children, I wanted something that involved not just my passion but them also, so I included a children’s boutique,” said Vickery.
Vickery also has an apprentice working in the salon with her, named Nikki Spivey. Nikki has always had an interest in hair but is now able to turn those interests into reality. “Nikki has a natural ability with hair, and I am extremely impressed with her,” said Vickery.
Another unique opportunity within Bloom is that a bridal party can rent out the entire business for their special day. Bloom will provide hair and makeup. You can bring in snacks, drinks, and your own photographer to capture those memories.
Bloom offers your normal salon options as well as waxing and coloring that includes unicorn, mermaid, balayage and ombre. She is certified in naturally textured hair. She does twist outs, comb coils and braiding.
She also offers make up classes. “If someone would like to know more about makeup techniques or learn to do more with their make-up, we help with that.”
