Antonio Dwayne Willis Jr., 18, of Prattville now faces a charge of murder after the reported victim in a March 11 shooting has passed away. Prattville Police Chief Mark Thompson is not yet identifying the victim in the shooting.
As for Willis, who has been held in the Autauga Metro Jail since his arrest, his bond has now been increased to $500,000 cash only for the new murder charge.
Around 11 p.m. March 11, Prattville Police officers responded to the 100 block of Jones Street in reference to shots fired in the area. Officer located a male victim who had several gunshot wounds and was transported to Baptist. His condition deteriorated, and he has since passed away.
During their investigation, evidence pointed to Antonio Willis as the primary suspect. He was located and detained at another residence in Prattville. The alleged motive appears to be related to narcotics and the firearm was recovered.
