Prattville Mardi Gras: Bob and Gail Coccaro named Grand Marshals for Parade Feb 12

From Barbara W. Simpson

Cultural Arts and Special Events

Laissez les bons temps rouler! The good times will roll as the City of Prattville holds its 2022 Mardi Gras Parade and Celebration on Saturday, February 12, and leading the parade will be Grand Marshals Bob and Gail Coccaro of Prattville.

Bob and Gail Coccaro are long-time residents of Autauga County and have a great appreciation for the City of Prattville and its events and programs. After many years of working, they retired and now they enjoy giving back to the community by volunteering whenever they can.

Gail is an artist and a member of the Prattauga Art Guild for more than 10 years. As a volunteer, she opens the Prattville Creative Arts Center and Gallery two days a week for the public to enjoy and facilitates an open studio art class on Tuesday afternoons.

Bob works part time as an airplane mechanic, but when he is not busy with airplanes, he volunteers and makes repairs around the arts center, including repairing and painting furniture and display units and working on the kilns to help keep them running properly. Bob and Gail also volunteer for many special events, including A Main Street Christmas, Parade of Pumpkins, Christmas Parade, and Wilson Pickett Music and Arts Festival. Join us as we thank them for their volunteer service to our community.

The Prattville Mardi Gras Parade and Celebration will open with food vendors, arts and craft and specialty vendors at 11 a.m., and the parade will begin at 2 p.m. For more information, contact the Special Events office at 334-595-0850 or visit www.prattvilleal.gov
