Elmore County Schools Update: See list of Schools that will Observe E-Day for Wednesday

BY AMANDA PEVEY

ELMORE/AUTAUGA NEWS

Due to the number of faculty and staff absences for tomorrow, some area schools will be virtual on January 19th, 2022.

Coosada Elementary School, Airport Road Intermediate School, Millbrook Middle School, Wetumpka Elementary School and Holtville Elementary School will be observing an E-Learning day for tomorrow, January 19th 2022. All other Elmore County Public Schools that are not listed will be on a regular schedule for tomorrow.

For Coosada Elementary School students, there will be packets available for pickup starting today at 2:00pm. These packets will remain outside until 3:00pm tomorrow. Please pull around to the car rider line to find the buckets for each grade level. Each pod will have their own bucket and the packets will be labeled with student names. The packets will contain work for the rest of the week, should that work be needed. If you are not able to pick up your child’s packet, it will be sent home with them upon their return to school.

For Millbrook Middle School students, teachers will be assigning Edgenuity coursework and will have the assignments posted in their calendar on the school websites.  If you have any questions about an assignment, please contact the teacher via remind or email.  Schools will reassess the situation tomorrow and update everyone about the remainder of the week.

Per Richard Dennis, Superintendent of Elmore County Schools, they will evaluate the status of each school tomorrow and determine if we are able to adequately return for the next day and then notify parents and students. Also, please be aware that bus routes in some areas will be delayed due to the shortage of drivers and substitute drivers. This situation may continue for the duration of the COVID spike.
