Armed Robbery, Carjacking Under Investigation by Millbrook Police

BY CHIEF P.K. JOHNSON

MILLBROOK POLICE DEPARTMENT

On Monday, December 20, 2021, Millbrook police officers responded to the 100 block of Joshua Court (Deatsville) with regard to a robbery of an individual. Upon officer’s arrival, the victim advised that he was approached by two black males, one of which was described as wearing a black hoodie and sweatpants, armed with a large (rifle) caliber pistol.

The offenders demanded the victim turn over the keys to his vehicle and his cell phone. The offenders fled the scene in the victim’s 2015 Dodge Challenger, blue in color and a Ford Mustang, possible 2015 model, white in color, with damage to the passenger side of the vehicle.

The scene was turned over to detectives from the department’s Criminal Investigations Unit. The victim advised detectives that he believes that he was followed by the offenders from Montgomery. He stated that he’d observed the suspect vehicle prior to being approached at his residence.

Things like this make me physically ill. Our citizens have a right and an expectation to be safe and secure at their place of residence. It appears that the victim was targeted in a neighboring city, followed to his residence, where he was accosted at gunpoint and his property was taken by threat of deadly force.

Fortunately, the victim in this case was not harmed. Our investigators are working this case aggressively and are currently following up on a potential lead pertaining to this case. Should we identify the offenders in this case, both individuals will face the charge of Robbery 1st Degree.

We are asking that anyone that may have information on this case to contact the Millbrook Police Department at (334 )285-6832 or our Secret Witness line at (334) 285-8500.

I would encourage our citizens to be aware of their surroundings, especially when you’re approaching your home. If you observe any suspicious vehicle or subject, it may be prudent to avoid your residence, remain in your secured vehicle and notify law enforcement. It’s a shame you have to think that way, but it’s the world we live in. We will make every effort to identify these two offenders and prosecute them to the fullest extent that the law allows.
