Two days ago we shared the story of a severe health crisis for Jaimie DiGiovanni, of Eclectic. Known by many as “The Little Witch” we asked for prayers, as doctors were giving little hope that she would make it through bilateral viral pneumonia. In fact, today she was scheduled to be taken off treatments, and the prognosis was grim.
Her mother, Margie, is our Eclectic reporter. Over the past few months we have come to love both Margie and Jaimie. Our hearts have broken as we have kept in touch with Margie for updates.
But Look at God!
Jaimie, with no real explanation or expectation, is improving. She is not out of the woods. So keep those prayers coming.
But Margie told us earlier today that Jaimie woke up, saw her balloons and was able to communicate with medical staff. Her oxygen has been lowered, but she is tolerating it well. Her blood pressure and heart seem to be doing much better.
“It is just a miracle,” Margie said to us in a phone call earlier. “Please, Please tell everyone who has prayed, it is working. Please keep them coming.”
Jaimie is in the ICU of Flowers Hospital in Dothan. Margie has been by her side whenever allowed, and otherwise waits in the waiting room or a nearby hotel room where she is able to rest.
This is where we want to give a big Thank You to Love in Action International Ministries in Dothan, Alabama.
The Ministry is run by Ken and Martha Tuck, and they offer prayer, food and other services throughout the world and in Alabama.
Back in 1993, we moved to Fort Rucker, Alabama with the military. I ended up working as the Editor of the Enterprise Ledger. Ken was the Sports Editor at that time. He was always a man of God and his faith was a big inspiration to me. We have stayed in touch over the years through social media.
On Friday night after I talked with Margie, and she told me that Jaimie was not expected to make it, I just started praying. I had no idea what to do except pray at that point. But knowing Margie was down there alone in Dothan afraid her daughter may die was agonizing. Now, maybe you are not a believer, but what I am about to tell you is the absolute truth.
As I prayed I heard a voice in my head. All it said was “Ken Tuck.” I had been trying to think of anyone I still knew down in that area to call and ask them to give support to Margie during this horrible time. KEN TUCK! Keep in mind I have not seen Ken face to face in almost 30 years.
I reached out, and long story short, he and his wife Martha drove to Dothan and sat with Margie. They prayed with her, talked and offered her love and comfort.

“Please Tell Ken and Martha how much that meant to me,” Margie said a short time ago.

Again, it is still early, and Jaimie has a long way to go. But there is a light of hope that surpasses explanation and it wasn’t there two days ago.
Bless the doctors and nurses who are taking care of Jaimie. Thank you. We will keep everyone updated on Jaimie’s progress. Please keep Margie in your thoughts. She is not alone as her son has been able to come back to be with her. So, she has amazing support, and she said she has felt the prayers coming. Please, keep them coming. Thank you.
Margie posted to her social media page two days ago about Jaimie’s condition at that time, with a photo of a Unicorn and balloons, all Jaimie’s favorite colors. “The nurses brought it in just in case Jaimie wakes up,” Margie said. “They want that to be the first thing she sees if she wakes up.”
Amen. It was.
