On 12/01/2021, The Prattville Police Department arrested Chelsey Renee Riddle on one pending count of Assault 2nd and one pending count of Attempted Assault 1st. Earlier this date, Officers responded to a local Hotel on Cobbs Ford Road where contact was made with an adult male victim. He reported that an unknown female entered the lobby area at approximately 5:00 am and attempted to stab him with a knife. The attack was unprovoked and the victim was able to prevent the female from stabbing him. The unknown female then fled the scene prior to the officers’ arrival.

Several hours later, officers responded to a local gas station on Fairview Avenue at approximately 8:20 am where another adult male was approached by the same female and stabbed in the back. This attack was also unprovoked and the female fled the scene in a passenger car. Officers received a potential description of the suspect and suspect’s vehicle which resulted in a pursuit on Interstate 65.

Prattville Police Department officers were able to get the suspect’s vehicle stopped and able to detain the female suspect, later identified as Chelsey Riddle, 31, of Tennessee. The victim was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The suspect has been transported to the Elmore County Jail pending warrants and bond. At this time, these cases are still under investigation.

According to Chief Mark Thompson, the stabbing victim was “simply stopped to get gas” when the reported attack occurred.

“He was injured, but it is non-life threatening fortunately,” Thompson said.

We will update and share any new information as it is released.

Thompson said there is no known connection between the suspect and those who were threatened and/or attacked.
