Millbrook Christmas Tree Lighting is Thursday; Parade is Saturday – See Article for Events

Each year thousands of people line Main Street for the annual Christmas Parade! Come early, do some shopping at the Village Green then find YOUR perfect spot.

MILLBROOK SPIRIT OF CHRISTMAS EVENTS 2021

Thursday – Dec. 2nd – Annual Christmas Tree Lighting will be this Thursday at Village Green Park. Music begins at 5:30 p.m. courtesy of “Clemency.” The official program kicks off at 6 pm with an opening prayer from Pastor Caleb Strickland with River Region Church of the Nazarene. Come out, bring your chairs and a blanket. Entertainment includes Clemency, singers and dancers from Airport Road Intermediate School and the Stanhope Elmore High School Band.

The City of Millbrook purchased six snow machines for this event, so there will be a great opportunity for family photos in “the snow.”

Saturday – Dec. 4th – Spirit of Christmas Parade –  2 pm.   (The Rain Date is Dec.5th at 3 pm for Parade and 10 am – 4 pm for Vendors. )  The Theme for this year is “March of the Toy Soldiers.” Our Grand Marshal for this year’s parade is Joseph “Rabbit” Culver.

Arts & Crafts, Food Vendors and Entertainment –  9:00 am – 4:00 pm.  We will have entertainment on stage all day on the Village Green.  Come out and see lots of dancers, old and young, and listen to some wonderful singers.  We have a great variety of Arts & Crafts vendors, so come out and buy some beautiful and unique Christmas gifts.  We have food vendors aplenty with all kinds of temptations.  Come for breakfast, stay for lunch, and take home goodies for supper!

Entertainment on stage that day will include the Prattville Promenaders, Chung’s Tai Kwon Do, and Lisa’s Dance Dimensions.

Santa & Mrs. Claus will be in the Gazebo in the Village Green and available for FREE pictures 11 am – 1 pm.   Free photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus for children 12 and under.  Photos are taken by Chrietzberg Photography and sponsored by Valley Bank.

Parade – 2 pm – til it’s over.   The Parade begins at the Smokehouse Barbecue and ends at the intersection of Main Street and Coosada Road.  We will have lots of politicians, fire trucks, cars, floats, bands, scouts, dancers, tractors, and horses.  And lots of candy being  thrown!  After walking around the Village Green and buying from our vendors, pick you out a spot to view our wonderful Parade.  When the Parade is over, come back to the Village Green to finish your shopping.  We wish everyone a very Merry Christmas!!!

Applications for Parade entries and/or Booth Vendor entries are available online on the City of Millbrook website, the Chamber website, the Spirit of Christmas Facebook page, at Millbrook City Hall, the Millbrook Chamber office and at Kelley Accounting.

Christmas Parade & Vendor Information

NOTE: The deadline for food vendors has passed. However, spots are still available for general vendors/booths.

The Parade will begin at the Mill Creek Sports Complex behind Smokehouse Pit BBQ and will end at the intersection of Main Street and Coosada Road at the Millbrook Economic Development Center/Millbrook Area Chamber of Commerce (old City Hall).

•             Line-up for the parade is at the Mill Creek Sports Complex parking lots.

•             People who are riding on floats must be dropped off at the back entrance to the sports complex by way of Demonbruen Drive off of Cobbs Ford Road.  After the parade it would be easier for parents to pick up their children in back of the Village Green.

•             All horses will be placed last in line at the end of the parade unless they have diapers.

•             To be judged you must be in line and on your float by 12:30 p.m. This means your float must be decorated and people must be on your float for the judges to be able to judge your float.   You can bring your float in early and leave it.  Judges will view the floats and awards will be presented to the winners in the following categories:  Best Representation of Theme, and 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners in Schools, Churches, Clubs, and Businesses.  Please have a banner or sign to identify your entry in the parade.

•             Santa and Mrs. Claus will be riding on Santa’s sleigh.  Please don’t confuse the kids by having another Santa on your float.

•             The Parade will end at the intersection of Main Street and Coosada Road. at the Millbrook Economic Development Center/Millbrook Area Chamber of Commerce (the old City Hall).  Your float can go straight or turn left and end at Park Circle or go on toward Prattville.

•             Please make sure you have enough candy to throw to last the entire parade route!!!!!!!

•             There is no charge for Parade entries.  We will not send out a line-up number.  You will be shown to your line-up position the day of the parade.  We will send you an acknowledgement of your entry form if you have an e-mail or FAX# on form.

•             Booths for refreshments and concessions will open at 9 a.m. on the Village Green and stay open until 4 p.m.  Booths are available for arts & crafts, and other items. You will be contacted by the Booth Chairman for approval of your booth.  We try not to duplicate items in booth sales.  You will also be contacted the day before the parade on where to set up. There will be a map posted on the Village Green showing your location.

•             There is a charge for each BOOTH entry.  See booth fees on entry form.  

•             Please fill out the form completely.  Please include an e-mail address or a FAX #.

•             Parade and/or Vendor application ARE still being accepted.

Booth fees are:  $40 for Individuals, Schools, Churches & Non-profits;

Pricing for Booth Space for Vendors:

$60 for Commercial vendors without electricity; 

$75 for Commercial vendors that need electricity.
