On Saturday, the Autauga County Sheriff’s Office was called after apparent human skeletal remains were found in a wooded area.
Investigators are working to identify the remains, and at this point very little other information is being released. According to Autauga County Sheriff Joe Sedinger, the remains were found around 2:30 p.m. but the exact location was not immediately released.
A similar incident occurred several years ago in Autauga County near Vida. In that case, the remains were identified as a Montgomery man who had not been seen for over a year.
Often hunters in the woods this time of year are in a position to find remains which could lead to the discovery of a missing person. If you ever come across such a scene, remember to immediately call law enforcement.
