FROM VIRGINIA BARBER

ST. MICHAEL AND ALL ANGEL’S EPISCOPAL CHURCH of MILLBROOK
It’s Christmas time for many and as we all begin to set up for Ole’ Saint Nick to arrive, the Saint Michael and All Angel’s Episcopal Church of Millbrook is bringing the Christmas cheer in for the community! This is the second annual Ole Saint Mike’s Christmas Tree lot but for those from Millbrook this has been going on for years! The tree lot used to be on highway 14 until last year when The Robbins’ family (who are members of Saint Michael’s) brought it to the church. This is a ministry for the church, all proceeds go towards outreach within our community and it’s a wonderful fellowship time for our church members.
We had the distinct honor of having the Bishop of Alabama, The Reverend Bishop Glenda Curry, bless our Christmas trees Sunday. “Bishop G” as we fondly know her, decided when she became the bishop in January that her goal was to visit every church in the diocese by the end of the year. We are so glad to have her and those that haven’t picked out a Christmas tree yet know there is a special blessing on each one.
But no worries, if you have already bought your tree, we have prayed over them and the parishioners have sung and danced all around them! Come visit us at Ole Saint Mike’s Christmas tree lot Monday through Friday 5-9 p.m., Saturday 9 a.m.-9 p.m. and Sunday 1-6 p.m.
The church and tree lot are located on Main Street behind CVS.
