FROM THE HOLTVILLE HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT NEWS TEAM
“Friday Night Dinners” are becoming quite the popular event at Holtville High School. These students are learning life skills to be able to take into their next phase of life; cooking, cleaning, working, culinary specialties, and so much more. Chef Beau Myers is truly building the next generation of the hospitality industry.
The next “Friday Night Dinner” will be this Friday, November 19th. There will be two seating’s at 5 and 6:30 p.m. in the Bulldog Bistro at the back of the school.
Culinary 2 students Sadie Nelson, Katelyn Bridges, and Amber Davis have created a Thanksgiving inspired menu.
Option 1: Pecan praline crusted Turkey, seared dressing cakes, and cast-iron green bean casserole, with peach cobbler for dessert.
Option 2: Maple drizzled Fried chicken, panko crunch mac-n-cheese, and silked potatoes, with sugar cookies for dessert.
Option 3: Baked ham, Stone ground cheese grits, bacon wrapped green beans, with sweet potato souffle.
The December Friday Night Dinner will be December 17th. There will be two seatings at 5 and 6:30 p.m. in the Bulldog Bistro at the back of the school.
Culinary 2 students Amanda McQueen and Justin Damian have created a diverse menu.
Option 1: Miso soup, Teriyaki glazed New York strip and stir-fry risotto and Chinese doughnuts.
Option 2: Seared Frenched bone pork chop with deconstructed loaded baked potato and honey, bacon brussels, brownie trifle.
