PAHS Pet of the Week: Meet Apollo; A Gentle Giant, Good with Dogs and Children

FROM PRATTVILLE AUTAUGA HUMANE SHELTER

Apollo has been chosen to be our featured pet this week.

Apollo is a 4-year-old male Black Lab/Rottweiler mix who has already been neutered.  He was turned in to PAHS as a stray from out in the county and no one has reclaimed him.  He is a very good looking guy who weighs 82 pounds.

Apollo is just as sweet as he can be!  This gentle giant gets along well with other dogs and would be just fine in a home with children.  Apollo is well behaved and calm.  Apparently no one ever took the time to leash train him but he is learning quickly about that.  Please consider giving this wonderful big boy a new start on life.  Apollo is the best!  Another dog, his sister, named Daphne was also turned in with him.  These dogs are bonded to each other.

She was hit by a car and carried to the Animal Medical Clinic by Autauga County Animal Control.   Dr Trotter and her team helped treat her wounds and get her back on her feet.   With the amazing team work for weeks between, Prattville/Autauga Humane Society, Autauga County Sheriff’s Office, and Animal Medical Clinic, Apollo and Daphne have finally been happily reunited together and  both are now waiting on their “furever home.”   We are featuring Apollo today but both are wonderful dogs and both are available for adoption at PAHS.

Our adoption fee is $120 for dogs and $50 for cats.  This fee covers a microchip, microchip registration, discounted spay/neuter, deworming, vaccinations (as age and law requires), and a courtesy vet exam at participating offices.  Unless otherwise indicated under “special needs” our dogs have screened heart worm negative.

The shelter is located at 1009 Reuben Road in Prattville.  Our regular hours are Monday through Saturday from 11 am until 4 pm.   We do close one day each month for staff training – that date will be chosen later in the month.

Adoptions are currently by appointment only.   For more information about our shelter,  please call 358-2882, find us on Facebook at Prattville/Autauga Humane Society, email [email protected]., or visit our website at www.prattvilleautaugahumane.org.

Your continued support is greatly appreciated in helping to find homes for these pets.

Sincerely,

Ara Horn
