Coosada Elementary School students had dress up days throughout the week for Red Ribbon Week. On Friday October 29th students enjoyed a BIG celebration by doing a Super Mario Candy Grab organized by the counselors for Coosada Elementary – Valena Agee and Daphne McClendon. All of the students from PreK, Kindergarten, 1st Grade, and 2nd Grade were able to walk throughout the school to show off their costumes and get candy from their non-homeroom teachers.
The candy was donated from the parents of Coosada. Each student was sent home with a big bag of candy for them to enjoy as well. The students had the best time going around the school and getting candy. Valena Agee and Daphne McClendon are the MVPs who organized this entire week for the children. Coosada Elementary also did a door decoration contest for the teachers.

Prizes were for Overall Winner a $10 gift card and 4 Jean Passes. Prizes for Grade level/Pod Winners were 4 Jean Passes. All teachers that participated received 1 Jean Pass.
Airport Road Intermediate School did dress up days for the students throughout Red Ribbon Week. They are also participating in a door contest for the teachers as well. Parents who are in the private group for ARIS can go to the group page and choose their favorite door by liking the picture. Voting is open and ends on November 1st at 12 p.m.
Millbrook Middle School students for the 5th through 8th grade enjoyed dress up days for the school. The school allowed for all 5th and 6th grade students to attend a Halloween Dance on October 28th from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tickets were $15 which included entry, 1 slice of pizza, and a drink. Students who participated was able to wear their school appropriate costume to enter a costume contest.
One winner for 5th grade and one winner for 6th grade were selected. The winners received a huge bucket of candy. The Halloween Dance was a great turn out of students. Over 25 teachers volunteered to help with this event. It was a wonderful opportunity for the students to have fun and be with their friends, too. Assistant Principal Spencer Wade and Assistant Principal Letitia Ruffin-Johnson were in charge of the event.
