As the holidays draw near, the people at Good Hope Baptist Church prepare to enjoy them by sharing with others.

Pastor Kenneth Hill leads the way while recognizing the talents of others in the church. Brother Davy Kincaid is the children’s minister. He delights in promoting the Trunk or Treat, Sunday, October 31, 2021, between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m., in the church parking lot. Brother Davy has the youthful disposition but also possesses a tenderness for the youngest and the wisdom needed to lead all ages.

Anyone who wishes may have a decorated car or truck trunk with volunteers handing out candy to the children. Some offer games to play. There are train rides, a hayride, a photo booth, bounce castles and slides, and pony rides.

Sunday, October 24th church members were urged to take shoe boxes and fill them with items for children in other lands who do not know about Christ’s life. Members have been collecting items for the boxes all year, but the next two weeks are the final days for turning in completed boxes. Along with toys, socks, pads and pencils, and hygiene items, people are requested to add a personal note. Often children are happiest to receive those even more than a toy.

Angie Reese and Courtney Gibbons Sellers are charged with collecting the boxes. They will also be signing up anyone who is interested in going to Atlanta, Georgia on December 3rd to pack up boxes for shipment. Anyone who wishes to attend, contact the church, and leave a message for either Angie or Courtney at 334-541-3837.
