Holtville High School: Friday Night Dinners Help Students Thrive; Try it out This Friday!

FROM THE HOLTVILLE NEWS TEAM

Chef Beau Myers, a highly trained and sought after chef, has taken on and exceeded all expectations in two years as the Culinary expert on Holtville High School’s Campus.

He has grown the hospitality and culinary program substantially since his arrival in 2020. With his expertise, he is helping students become well trained in the services industry, as well as become excited about hospitality!

Karyn Mahummad, a student in one of the culinary classes, says “This class is very interesting. I like how fun the class is and how much Chef Beau cares about us and teaches us to be great.”

This year, once a month, Chef Beau and his Culinary II students are holding a Friday Night Dinner at the Bulldog Bistro. The dinners help the students learn how to work on the service and hospitality side of the culinary business.

Chef Beau explains, “The reason we’re doing the Friday night dinners is to raise money for our labs. Also, it gives the students a chance to experience a real restaurant setting. We will also be accepting donations to the culinary program because we are going to turn our garden area into an outdoor patio for Friday night dinners, and to have another outside spot for our students during the day at our Bulldog Period. We invite everyone in the community to come out and join us this Friday, October 29, to experience the awesome atmosphere this course has created.”

There will be two seatings for anyone to join, one at 5 p.m. and the other at 6:30 p.m.. The cost is $15 a person.

Culinary II students Kenneth Stuckey and Justine Beilstein have created a wonderful menu and all money raised goes right back into the program.

Friday’s menu will consist of:

  • Option 1 – cheese fries, buffalo wings and for dessert, apple cobbler.
  • Option 2 – garden salad, Bistro burger with ¼ pound patty with bacon jam, fried egg, lettuce, tomato, and sharp cheddar cheese.

Come out and help support the culinary program at the school. We look forward to seeing you this Friday, and the last Friday of every month this school year! GO BULLDOGS!
