MONTGOMERY POST — A two-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 7:10 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 25, has claimed the life of a Montgomery man. Joseph Dillard, 37, was driving a 2004 Chevrolet Suburban at a high rate of speed, when he struck the rear of a 2014 Kia Forte driven by Ashley H. Mallinson, 29, of Pike Road.

Dillard swerved after striking the Kia Forte, causing his vehicle to roll over and eject him. Dillard, who was not using a seat belt, was transported to Baptist Medical Center South, in Montgomery, where he on Tuesday, Sept. 28,  succumbed to his injuries.

The crash occurred on Interstate 85 north near the 11 mile marker, approximately 2.5 miles north of Montgomery, in Montgomery County. Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
