Area First Responders, friends and family came together Saturday for a procession to honor Coosada Fire Department member Steven McPherson, who passed away on Sept. 11. Call sign 1566 was honored by the Coosada Fire and Police Departments, as well as other area departments who showed their respect for their fallen brother.
The Millbrook Fire Department raised a large American Flag in McPherson’s honor. A Celebration of Life was held following the procession at the Coosada Community Center.
Friends at the celebration said Steve would be very proud for the love and support shown in his memory and to his family.

Mr. Steven Paul McPherson, 46, a resident of Elmore, AL passed away on September 11, 2021 at a local hospital. A Celebration of Life service was held on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at 4:30 p.m. at Coosada Community Center, 649 Pecan Grove Road, Coosada, AL 36020 with Jonathan Sinn officiating.
He was preceded in death by his father James Danny Smith. He worked as an E.M.T. with Haynes, Care, Metro, Rural and RPS Ambulance Companies, was a member of Coosada Volunteer Fire Dept., was Vice-President of Ranger Farms and a car salesman with Reinhardt Motors.
Steven is survived by his wife Judith Lynn Moore-McPherson; mother Laura Nan McPherson; sons Jordan McPherson, Jacob McPherson, Christian McPherson, Preston Taylor, Taylor Henley, Shawn Moore; daughters Samantha Perkins (Hunter), Ariel Missildine, Meagan Moore, Kelly Pomeroy (Chris); brothers Jonathan Sinn and Gaines Harrell; and six grandchildren.
