FROM THE PRATTVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT
Teto Jermaine Williams, 34, of Wetumpka now faces a murder charge in relation to the shooting of his brother in a Prattville parking lot back on Aug. 6, 2021.
The victim’s identity has not been released, had remained hospitalized since the shooting that took place in the vicinity of the Blue Iguana and Bama Lanes. He died around 9 a.m. Sept. 15.
During the investigation it was determined both the suspect and the victim had arrived at the Blue Iguana to patronize the business. The victim and the suspect were engaged in a verbal altercation which escalated to the shooting prior to making entry into the business.
As a result of the investigation and consulting with the District Attorney’s Office, the charge has been upgraded to Murder. A warrant for Murder was obtained with a $250,000 cash bond as a result of the victim’s death.
Back in August Prattville Police responded to the area after reports of shots fired. Teto Williams was quickly identified and detained as the suspect. The victim was transported to Baptist South for emergency medical treatment, but has succumbed to those injuries.
