Covid Forced Cancellation last Year But PSL Labor Day Event was Back at Pratt Park Saturday; See Photos

For 69 years the Prattville Service League has been serving the community and today offers grants and donations to various causes.

The money for these causes is generated by events, such as the Annual Barbecue held at Pratt Park on Labor Day. The event filled up Pratt Park Saturday morning into the afternoon with plenty of fun, family activities and great barbecue.

The ladies and volunteers had stayed up late the night before preparing for the event, and the camp stew pots were bubbling.

But there was a lot more than just barbecue and camp stew available. Vendors were set up selling their wares, meet and greets occurred with local political candidates. Organizations and businesses offered information about their services. Corn Hole Games and Bingo were available as well as a petting zoo and pony rides.

However, the largest cheers could be heard from the Annual Miss Labor Day pageant, hosted by the PSL. Here are some of our photos from the day’s event. The PSL is compiling photos of winners from the pageant and we will share those when available.

The Labor Day event was canceled last year due to Covid, which made it impossible to bestow the normal grants from this remarkable service agency. Members told us they were thrilled to once again offer the event this year, while social distancing was recommended.

Thank you to the PSL members who, once again, served up a great Labor Day event. Thank you for all you do for Prattville and Autauga County.
