June Weedon Dorough of Prattville has been selected as a Long-Lewis Local Hero of the Month for July. June is very active with the Prattville YMCA, Field of Dreams and special needs activities.

June Weedon Dorough is an amazing women working tirelessly to offer activities to special needs children that otherwise would not be afforded to them due to their disabilities. She makes sure our special needs community has programs to fit their needs from sports to camps and even on the board of a special needs nonprofit. She also makes sure these kids have something fun to do and a place to do it all every week.
She works with and does amazing things for the special needs children groups in our community. June pours her heart into what she does to provide these children and young adults with the activities and social gatherings that they might not get a chance to do and enjoy. She has brought so much joy and life to these extraordinary people. She makes so many kids smile and enjoy life. She is an angel in our world and loves our children as her own. She has a heart of gold and has a huge group of precious supporters to boot! You could not find a better person!
