I had the pleasure of attending Grandview Pines Baptist Church annual Vacation Bible School this past week. Each night that I attended more and more children came.

The first night there were 40 children and by the last night, 77 children were in attendance. Children got to watch a skit played by members of the church, learn Bible verses daily, sing Bible songs, play outdoor games, make crafts, and take home a snack as well. The theme this year was “Catch up with Jesus” Lettuce Praise Him and Relish Him.

Condiments were portrayed through Bible verses each night. It included ketchup, mustard, relish, and mayonnaise as well as the Diablo sauce. Also, each night was a competition of the girls verses the boys. The girls were called Pine Fries, and the boys were called Grandview nuggets. There were two main people who at the end of the night got a pie in the face for whichever team lost.

Bro. Jarott and Heather Williams dressed up as Mr. and Mrs. Ketchup, Mr. and Mrs. Mustard, Mr. and and Mrs. Relish, and Mr. and Mrs. Mayonnaise. Mr. Ketchup, got a pie of ketchup in his face the first night. The next night, Mr. Mustard decided to put a little in Mrs. Mustards face, and then he got the whole pie in his own face. On Tuesday night, Mrs. Relish had a relish pie on her face. In the he FINALE which was held on Wednesday, Mr. and Mrs. Mayonnaise decided they were done getting a pie in their face so they decided to get Pastor Sangster in the face and it was such a delight to see.

It was not only mayonnaise in the pie, but there was also ketchup, mustard, relish, and diablo sauce mixed underneath the mayonnaise. Pastor Sangster got to taste it all in one night.

I really enjoyed attending their annual vacation Bible school and I know all the children that came got to grow with the Lord as well. I look forward in attending the next vacation Bible school at this church because I know the members, as well as the Pastor and his wife, do an amazing job putting this all together for the children.
