Being an insurance agent can be tough, but when you have a strong-work ethic and are interconnected within the community like Mandi Fortner, then your job becomes that much easier.
Mandi is a second-generation State Farm agent originally from Monroe, Louisiana. She attended Mississippi College in Clinton, MS where she earned a Bachelor of Science. Their office has served the Millbrook/River Region area since 2011.
Mandi been a part of the State Farm team for 10 years as an agent and worked for the company for three years prior to becoming an agent.
“I grew up in a State Farm family. My mother worked as an agent for 34 years and my dad was a life underwriter for State Farm. I have loved my experience with State Farm and am very grateful for the opportunity to be a part of our great company,” Fortner said.
Fortner explained that the day-to-day workload of an insurance agent can vary depending on her client’s needs.
“Each day looks a little different. We offer a wide range of insurance, financial services and banking products to meet customer needs. We help our customers with their policy inquiries, claims, and we give quotes to those who may call or walk in to our office,” Fortner said
Fortner said that her main goal is to provide guidance to each and every person that comes to her for help.
“My day-to-day activities are centered on working with our customers and team. We individually and collectively work to make sure our customer’s property and lives are covered if an unexpected event occurs. We provide guidance on the many products State Farm offers to help people manage the risks of everyday life, recover from the unexpected, and realize their dreams,” Fortner said.
Fortner said her move from Mississippi to Alabama was one that brought new challenges, but that she has loved her time in the Millbrook area.
“Millbrook has a small-town feel, and we have some of the most amazing community leaders I have ever known,” Fortner said.
Know as a leader herself, Fortner has stayed extremely active in the Millbrook community, serving as the Secretary of the Prattville-Millbrook Sunrise Rotary Club and a member of the Millbrook Area Chamber of Commerce.
Fortner says her reasoning to join the chamber stems from their strong presence in the Millbrook area, and their ability to provide avenues for businessowners and workers to properly network.
“I choose to be a part of the MACC because it is a way to support the community, build relationships, and keep up to date with community events. The MACC offers value in many ways including their networking luncheons, accessibility and resources, and genuine interest in the growth and success of our area,” Fortner said.
Fortner said that she has a great relationship with the chamber, and that it will continue to be a blessing to the small businesses of Millbrook.
“I believe it is very important to support each other and have a strong, positive presence in the local community,” Fortner explained.
Ultimately, Fortner believes that there are big things coming to the Millbrook area that wouldn’t have been possible without a strong sense of community and strong local leadership.
“The strong sense of community continues to increase with the many exciting things coming to Millbrook like Seventeen Springs and the downtown renovation,” Fortner said.
Upcoming projects like Seventeen Springs will see new soccer, football, and baseball fields alongside Tennis and Pickleball courts.
The $30 M project is just one of the great things that local leadership will be bringing to the Millbrook area.
“It’s an exciting time,” Fortner said.
Fortner says that people from the river region are always free to stop the agency.
“We would love the opportunity to get to know you and your family and help however we can,” Fortner said.
