As the Summer Days are slipping by, area kids will be heading back to school before we know it.

To celebrate all things summer, and to offer families and kids a great way to have fun before school begins, the Prattville community is invited to a Block Party July 30. The event will include live music from “Creativity,” food vendors, games and more. The event is FREE, which is always a good thing.

It will be held at Pratt Park from 6-10 p.m. Bring a blanket or lawn chair and listen to the band, which many residents will recognize from their prior performances at events like July the 4th in past years at the stadium.

According to Barbara Simpson, with the Special Events Office, “Creativity” performs a wide array of covers from multiple generations, including Motown.

A picnic area will be set up in the park for families, along with games such as cornhole.

“In the past we had a Back to School Street Dance, but we wanted to do something a little different this year,” Simpson said.

Families are reminded they can also use the Pool and Splash Pad facilities for a great way to cool down on a hot summer evening.

You don’t want to miss this community event! For more information, contact the Special Events Office at (334) 595-0850.
