Top photo is the Draft for Glennbrooke 9 subdivision in Prattville.
It appears more homes will be coming to Glennbrooke in Prattville, as their ninth subdivision was approved, annexed and rezoned from F.A.R. to R-3 at Thursday’s commission meeting.
Final approval will still be needed by Prattville’s City Council.
If approved by the council, the subdivision, known as “Glennbrooke 9” will bring 143 more homes to the growing neighborhood.
Blake Rice, engineer for Barrett-Simpson, Inc and key contributor to the project, says that this subdivision could bring more hype than past subdivisions because they are looking into building a hard-scape amenity in the area. Rice says that developers are leaning towards building a third pool for the neighborhood, but that a park or perhaps even a pickleball court wouldn’t be out of the question.
“We heard from the residents, and they were pretty adamant. They mentioned that have several amenities already and they want more. Once you have one pool, the worst thing you can have is too small of pool for the whole place,” Rice said.
Currently the neighborhood has two pools, a splash pad, and a park with soccer nets.
There’s also news of Development North of High Point Shopping Center.
The commission approved the preliminary plat for the Magnolia Ridge Subdivision that will be coming to 24.32 acres of land north of High Point Shopping Center.
The land located just north of High Pointe shopping center by Old Farm Lane and Rocky Mountain Road has been a point of interest in the Prattville community for several years now.
The new neighborhood project will be developed by Flowers and White engineering, and will be home to 67 lots that cater to ages 55 and older.
Homes will be one story high, have a handicap accessible bathroom, zero entry showers, double garages, and an 18-ft-wide driveway.
The project’s proposed “Thrash Property” sketch plan was proposed back in February of this year.
