Prattville Announces Notices for Some Organizations will No Longer Be in Newspaper unless Required By Law

FROM THE CITY OF PRATTVILLE

Planning Department Update:

Effective July 16, 2021, the City of Prattville’s Planning and Development Department will no longer advertise the following items in the newspaper: public hearings for subdivisions, zoning amendments, annexations, variance requests, use-on-appeal requests, or other items going before the Planning Commission, Board of Zoning Adjustment, or Historic Preservation Commission, unless there is a legal requirement to do so. The city will comply with any legal notification requirements and will do our best to make use of alternative means to notify the public about upcoming cases in their area. The alternative means include: mailing letters to neighbors, posting signs on the subject property, posting the meeting agendas on the website and the City Hall bulletin board, and making meeting packets available on the website.

For inquiries or concerns regarding upcoming agenda items for the commissions or boards, please contact the Planning Department at 334-595-0500 or planning@prattvilleal.gov.

Agendas will be available on the Public File Portal prior to the meetings.

Please visit planning.prattville.gov prior to the Board of Zoning Adjustment, Planning Commission, and Historic Preservation Commission meetings for additional information.

The public is encouraged to provide comments via email (planning@prattvilleal.gov) or the US Mail.

For questions regarding these meetings, please contact the Planning Department at 334-595-0500.
