“Don’t run from the police. You will go to jail tired.”
So says Millbrook Police Chief P.K. Johnson concerning an incident a short time ago that began with a suspected shoplifter at Walmart that fled on foot when officers arrived.
“We responded to a shoplifting in progress at Walmart. When officers arrived the suspect fled the business on foot east through the parking lot towards China Town. It was a very short foot pursuit” Johnson said.
Theft of property will probably be one of the charges, and possibly attempting to elude. Details, and the identity of the suspect, were not immediately available. In fact, as we spoke with Chief Johnson, the suspect had not yet arrived at the department, but is in police custody. We will update when possible.
