June 3 marked a huge celebration for Marbury as the seniors of 2021 received their diplomas and marked the end of their high school career at Marbury High School.

It was a foggy evening, but spirits were high. The night opened with Pomp and Circumstance with Edward Elgar, then the Invocation by Payton Nelson. The National Anthem was performed by the Marbury Choir.

Principal Lyman Woodfin welcomed the crowd, followed by speakers Brantley Denny, Senior Class President; Bennett Landry, Salutatorian with a 4.48 GPA; and Valedictorian Kassidy Adams, with a 4.53 GPA.

One last time, the graduates as a group sang their Alma Mater along with the Marbury Choir.

What a year these students have had. The Pandemic tested everyone, but these students showed their strength and resilience. Their smiles and cheers were abundant as they threw their graduation caps into the air, and celebrated a wonderful accomplishment.

Congratulations graduates. This is just one of the first big accomplishments. You will have a lifetime to make this world a better place. Be blessed.
