Two people received non-life-threatening injuries after multiple shots were fired during a house party in the Prairie View Subdivision in Prattville overnight.
Prattville Chief Mark Thompson said that officers were called to the area after a large party ended with multiple shots fired, and found a vehicle with the back window blown out. The Prairie View subdivision is located near Prattville High School, but the party was in the residential area nearby on Prairieview Drive.
A short time later, other officers were on an unrelated call in town when they heard several rounds of gunfire coming from the area of Bass Pro Shop. As they arrived in the area multiple vehicles were attempting to leave. It is unclear if the two incidents are related, but investigators are pursuing that possibility.
“It was kind of a crazy night, and we had a lot of different things going on,” Chief Thompson said. “We did have two victims that were injured, but at this point it does not appear to be life threatening.”
Thompson is asking for the community’s help to share information that could lead to those involved in firing the shots at the party as well as in the area of Bass Pro Shop. At this time, it appears that could include multiple different subjects.
Officers canvassed the neighborhood where the large house part was held. They were also able to stop several of the vehicles that attempted to leave from the area of Bass Pro and did recover some weapons. Both of these incidents are still under investigation, so information is limited at this time that can be released.
