ELMORE/AUTAUGA NEWS

Work on Millbrook’s 17 Springs project is moving ahead quickly. Have you noticed the old junkyard on Hwy. 14 has been cleared in Millbrook? There is a lot more going on behind the scenes as well, that isn’t easily viewed by the public.

Art Faulkner, Chairman of the Elmore County Economic Development Authority, recently visited the 17 Springs project site. As one of the five partners involved in the project, Chairman Faulkner provided an update on the project from ECEDA’s standpoint.

The partnership is made up of the City of Millbrook, The Elmore County Commission, the Montgomery YMCA, ECEDA and the Elmore County Board of Education.

As Phase 1 is well underway, bids will be let for the enormous project soon. If you are own a business interested in making a bid on work, please see video for more information on how to do that.

17 Springs will be a public facility that will host all types of sporting events, both indoors and outdoors. It will include a recreational pond, fieldhouse, concessions, multiple sporting fields, ample parking and much more.

“This is a huge deal for Millbrook and all of our partners,” Millbrook Mayor Al Kelley said. “This discussion started years ago, and it is now becoming a reality. It will be a tremendous game changer for Elmore County.”
